Qazi Uzair Ali
Uzair joined Imperium Chambers in March 2022 as a Paralegal. He works closely with Paul Turner on all aspects of immigration law and intends to expand his practice areas to familyand other civil matters.
As a paralegal, Uzair regularly works on a wide range of visa and settlement applications, asylum matters, judicial reviews and appeals in the First Tier and Upper Tribunal.
Uzair enjoys assisting clients with empathy and understands their ongoing miseries regarding their immigration matters and acts in the best interest of the clients with honesty, integrity along with maintaining client’s confidentiality.
Uzair aims to qualify as a Barrister and looks forward to developing his own practice in all of Chambers practice areas.
Uzair is a dual qualified lawyer, having been registered as an Advocate in the courts of Pakistan, and entitled to practice as a Registered Foreign Lawyer in England & Wales by the SRA. Uzair was recently called to the Bar by the Honorable Society of Lincolns Inn.
Uzair has been passionate about law since a young age which is why whilst doing LLB hestarted working part time for a London based Law firm and since then his legal journey continues.
Prior to working at Imperium Chambers, Uzair has worked for 3 years (Full Time & Part Time) in a city based law firm as a Legal Assistant specializing in Immigration, Family, Human Rights and Medical/Clinical Negligence.
Uzair wishes to specialize in advice, representation, and advocacy in all areas of Immigration, Asylum, nationality and deportation.
Uzair has accompanied multiple Barrister’s including a QC to hearings, ranging from theFirst Tier Tribunal to the Court of Appeal.
Extra-curricular / other:
Uzair is an active sportsman with his keen interest in football & table tennis. Uzair has captained his O levels and A levels football team and got selected in his university’s team as a centre forward when he came to the UK.
He is also a founder of a local football club in Karachi, named F.C. Chaos. As he had to come to the UK for higher education, the club had to be temporarily shut.
Uzair did his early schooling until A levels from Pakistan and came to the UK in 2017 for higher education.
Uzair completed his LLB degree from East London University with Honours and was granted the membership of National Association of Licensed Paralegals. During his time at UEL, hewas an active member of the mooting society and took part in a debate competition which took place in the House of Lords, he came 2nd in the competition. Uzair was also an active member of the legal aid centre, assisting Pro Bono clients across various areas like family and property disputes.
Uzair then completed his Master’s of Law in Corporate Law and Practice with specialism in Bar Vocational Studies from City Law School. During his time at City, he was a part of theFreedom Law clinic (Criminal Pro Bono) and worked on two active criminal cases and drafted the grounds of appeal against convictions and sentences which were then submitted to the Criminal Cases review commission.
