Sally-Anne Nwachuku
Overview
Sally-Anne is a highly experienced and respected advocate with over a decade of specialist experience in Immigration law. Before joining Imperium Chambers, Sally-Anne served at the Home Office, initially as a Presenting Officer and later progressing to Senior Presenting Officer. In these roles, she represented the Secretary of State in complex appeals before both the First-tier and Upper Tribunals, building a strong foundation in all aspects of immigration litigation.
Her experience spans a broad spectrum of Immigration matters, including asylum, deportation, EUSS applications, human rights appeals (under Articles 8 and 3), and bail applications. Frequently presenting urgent and high-stakes matters, Sally-Anne has developed a proven ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high standard of care and attention to detail.
During her time at the Home Office, Sally-Anne was also appointed as the unit’s Country Officer for Nigeria, deepening her operational and legal insight into Nigerian cases.
Sally-Anne is widely recognised for her strong advocacy, legal precision, and pragmatic approach. She has earned the trust and respect of both colleagues and the judiciary for her clarity, professionalism, and courtroom presence. Now in private practice, Sally-Anne will be working as a Pupil Barrister under Paul Turner and can bring these qualities to her work with lay and professional clients alike, offering a well-rounded, compassionate, and strategic approach that consistently sets her apart.
Extra-curricular / other:
Sally-Anne enjoys staying active by playing Netball for two local leagues in her area. She is also a home baker specialising in custom made cakes and cupcakes.
